Calling all superheroes!

We’re used to seeing superheroes light up movie screens with their daring deeds. But, did you know that we’re surrounded by the legacy of “super-humans” right here in Sarasota? Virtually visit The Ringling to learn more about awesome feats involved in the circus and the amazing impact the circus had on Sarasota.

This virtual tour will introduce 4th graders to superhuman qualities that can be seen in The Ringling Circus Museum. Students will explore the notion of “superhuman” by viewing the world’s largest miniature circus, trying out circus acts, and looking at how artists depict extraordinary individuals. Experienced museum educators will also help students understand the role that John and Mable Ringling played in the growth of Sarasota from a small town to a bustling cultural center.

This tour opportunity is open to all 4th-grade classes, in support of Any Given Child’s initiative to provide community arts experiences at all grade levels. Teacher resource materials, including suggested pre-and post-visit activities to do in the classroom or at home, will be provided to 4th-grade teachers who schedule this exploration.
