‘Root Camp’ with Rooted Resistance | Grounds4Art@HCC

Date

Nov 12 2020

Location

Virtual

Join us for a ‘Root Camp’! Through an interactive curriculum, this virtual session will be facilitated through functional movement and a dialogue centric approach, meditating upon the very real individual, cultural, and systemic oppressive experiences within and throughout each intersection of identity in the queer and trans communities. All ability levels are welcome. Let’s get liberated in our minds and bodies, together!

To participate in this event, you will need:

*Workout or yoga mat
*Area in which you can lay down fully and extend your arms without impediment

At the end of the session, attendees will be invited to ask questions and to share their thoughts about HCC’s current public art project NEST, including what features and design elements could be incorporated into the project sites to address their needs and interests.

NEST (Nourishment, Education and Social Terraces), led by Tory Tepp, is a multi-campus public art initiative that will transform sections of both the HCC Dale Mabry and Ybor City Campuses into socially activated green spaces.
