On The Move In Ybor!

Take part in Fledgling Takes Flight!, a limited workshop series to be held in multiple locations throughout Ybor City.

Blending her skills as a teacher and choreographer, Christina Acosta will host a workshop entitled On The Move in Ybor. In this series, Acosta will guide participants while they create an improvised dance phrase focused on body movement. Participants will then select cards with photos of Ybor building locations (Cuban club, Italian Club etc). By flipping over the cards, they will learn about different Ybor locations, which will become a “pathway” for discovery as the group visits each site and performs their dances. Students of the workshop will be encouraged to record and share their dances online, further establishing connections within the community and beyond.

On The Move in Ybor will be held on February 25th at 2pm, and will begin at Hillsborough Community College’s NEST site in Ybor, located on 11th avenue in front of the Visual Arts building. The workshop should last about an hour and half. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Water bottles, light refreshments, and parking passes for HCC’s parking lots will be provided, free of charge!
