Join Tampa Theatre and WEDU PBS as we observe Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and honor the life and legacy of “The Greatest,” Muhammad Ali.
Muhammad Ali – the newest film by celebrated documentarian Ken Burns – brings to life one of the best-known and most indelible figures of the 20th century, a three-time heavyweight boxing champion who captivated millions of fans throughout the world with his mesmerizing combination of speed, grace, and power in the ring, and charm and playful boasting outside of it. Ali insisted on being himself unconditionally and became a global icon and inspiration to people everywhere.
Following the screening of clips from the new documentary, patrons are invited to stay for a panel discussion and audience Q&A with community activists and champion boxers Antonio Tarver, Antonio Tarver Jr., Chavelle Hallback, China Smith, and Nate Campbell; and religious leader Imam Askia Muhammad Aquil. Students from The Skills Center Tampa will also talk about how sports have empowered them with the tools they need to become future leaders.
This FREE community event will also feature interactive Muhammad Ali Trivia Challenge, facilitated by Best Corporate Events, before the screening.
