Holiday Classics – Sing-Along White Christmas (1954)
Date
Location
2h 20m / Not Rated / Musical
White Christmas is most famous for its namesake song “White Christmas,” which was written for the movie … Holiday Inn. But in the twelve years since that movie came out, it had already become an enormous hit, so setting a new movie around it seemed obvious — and sure enough, White Christmas is a loose thematic remake of Holiday Inn. When you have Irving Berlin ready to write another movie musical for you, you just say yes. Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen are captivating as matched pairs of entertainers caught up in cute misunderstandings as they strive for stardom and travel the road to love.
On Sunday, Dec. 5, Tampa Theatre is showing the sing-along version! So get ready to add your own voices to standards like “Sisters,” “Count Your Blessings,” “Snow,” and “White Christmas” itself.

DONATE TO OUR DIAPER DRIVE!
Tampa Theatre is partnering with the Junior League of Tampa this holiday season to help the one in three families in the United States who struggle to provide their babies with clean, dry diapers. Guests attending Holiday Classics film screenings are invited to bring in disposable diapers of any type, size or brand, wipes and diaper cream, or help by purchasing items off of the Junior League of Tampa’s Amazon Wishlist.
Opened packages of disposable diapers are acceptable; however, please place them in a plastic zip-top bag, and label them with the size. Many of those in need use public laundry facilities, which do not permit washing cloth diapers for hygiene reasons. Accordingly, this is a disposable diaper collection only. We cannot accept cloth diapers, nor can we accept opened formula or other baby necessities, to ensure the health and safety of our participating families.
The Holiday Classics series is presented by Bank of America, with promotional support from Tampa Bay METRO Magazine and WEDU PBS
