The 2021 One Act Festival
A CWP Mainstage Special Event
For the first time ever, our hugely popular One Act Weekend expands to a two-weekend festival!
Weekend #1 will feature 8 original short plays written and directed by adults.
Weekend #2 will feature 8 original short plays written and directed by teens.
Audiences will experience an eclectic mix of short plays never-before produced in Florida, featuring comedy, drama, and everything in between!
In addition to thrilling sell-out crowds, this exciting event provides playwrights with an opportunity to see their work produced and provides emerging directors with experience under the guidance of seasoned mentors.
Sunday, May 23rd, 2021 at 7 pm – THIS AUDITION IS FOR THE ADULT WEEKEND ONLY
Monday, May 24th, 2021 at 7 pm – THIS AUDITION IS FOR THE TEEN WEEKEND ONLY
Auditions will be at Carrollwood Players Theatre, 4333 Gunn Highway, Tampa, FL, 33618
Strict health and safety protocols will be in place during these auditions.
You MUST complete the online audition form prior to the audition date so that we can send you complete audition details. These details will be sent approximately 1 day prior to the audition.
Weekend #1 – Adult Weekend – July 23rd, 24th and 25th
Friday and Saturday at 8 pm, Sunday at 2 pm
Weekend #2 – Teen Weekend – July 30th and 31st, August 1st
Friday and Saturday at 8 pm, Sunday at 2 pm
Tech Week:
For Adult Weekend: Sun. July 18th through Thursday, July 22nd
For Teen Weekend: Sun. July 25th through Thursday, July 29th
Must be available for all tech week rehearsals and all performances.
PLEASE LIST ALL POTENTIAL DATE SCHEDULE CONFLICTS ON THE ONLINE AUDITION FORM. Please take care to complete this section in full. Casting decisions and rehearsal schedules are based in part on this information.
The exact rehearsal schedule is to be determined, but rehearsals are usually 2-3 weekday nights per week, and may begin between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., lasting up to approximately 2 hours.
There may also be daytime rehearsals on Saturdays and/or Sundays. The rehearsal schedule intensifies as opening night draws closer. Tech week rehearsals often run later into the evening.
No experience is necessary. All roles are open. All ethnicities are encouraged to audition.
