An Evening in Celebration of Frederick Douglass

In honor of Black History Month, the public is invited to attend a free event commemorating Frederick Douglass and his important role in our country’s history. The evening will begin with a brief program about Douglass presented by Fred Hearns, Curator of Black History at the Tampa Bay History Center, followed by an interactive performance by Nathan Richardson.
Author and spoken word performer Nathan M. Richardson captures the physical and spiritual essence of the great writer, orator and abolitionist Frederick Douglass, as “Frederick Douglass speaks on Democracy.”
This event does not require reservations and is suitable for all ages. Concessions will be available for purchase. There will be several door prizes for free popcorn and a drawing for a special gift basket.
