Tampa Fringe Festival 2021

It’s that time of year again – time to FRINGE! Due to COVID 19, the Tampa Fringe will be held July 29th – August 8th at the HCC Ybor Performing Arts Building. This year since all companies will be performing in the three venues in this building, we are transforming the YPAB into a Magical Forest Grotto for all to enjoy. Inspired by classic fantasy art from the 20th century, with Babayaga’s Refreshment Hut, the Temple to the Chicken, and more. This is a dry venue, but our website includes a map to all of the closest bars and their walk times for those who would like to enjoy an adult beverage before or after performances.
Entry to the building requires a button – free with first ticket purchased, or is pay-what-you-can. This year will feature 14 companies performing over 70 shows over the course of the festival, including:

Scott Swenson Creative Development: PREACH! The Second Coming – the creator of many of the Bay Areas big venues like Busch Gardens, the Zoo, the Haunted Ship and more, this is the followup to his sell-out improv show in 2019.
Airtight Theatre: The Sack: A Superhero Play – just won awards at the Orlando Fringe for this show, local recent USF grads with sell-out shows in both 2018 & 2019!
ThinkTank TYA: Can(t) Relate – a devised youth theatre show focusing on the pandemic & teen impact.
Vulva VaVoom: A Rocky, Whorish, Patter Show – burlesque, brought the popular Smutty Nerd Burlesque 2019.
Nicole Smith: Wilson Goes to Grad School – Best of the Bay Award Winner; Lady Love 2018.

Groveland, FL: Fringin & Flagons – table-top role playing and collaborative improv storytelling meet in this sell-out show in the Orlando Fringe 2021.
Lakeland, FL: Rogue Stage with Be A Pirate! – a family friendly musical! Best for ages 8 and up. A story of learning how to be yourself. Award winning team brought Callbacks to Tampa in 2018.
Houston, TX: RyanAdam Wells with The 500 List – musical storytelling; brought Beers About Songs 2017.
Delray Beach, FL: Elyssa Rosen: Mom in Transition – a comedy about a boomer mom and her gender transitioning child.
Ozark, AL: Blotter Productions: Trailer Park Jesus – brought us the irreverent Carries Little Lambs in 2017.
Cincinnati, OH: Abby Palen Art: Moving the Mountain – an interactive comedy about what it means to crush your demons and kiss them goodbye.
Venice, CA: Jim Loucks: Award winning storytelling show Cemetery Golf.
Orlando, FL: The Little Merman from the Black Lagoon – this gender bending parody was a sell-out show in the Orlando Fringe 2021.
