Reception | Driven from the Garden: Marjorie Graff & Kim Kirchman
Join the HCC Art Galleries at the reception for Driven from the Garden: Marjorie Graff & Kim Kirchman Thursday, May 19, 5-8 p.m. at Gallery114@HCC Ybor City Campus. A panel discussion is to begin at 6 p.m. This exhibition will be on view May 16 – June 23, 2022.
Bonded by their enthusiasm for the natural world and parallel careers in arts education, artists Marjorie Graff and Kim Kirchman have nurtured a working friendship and ongoing artistic dialogue for a quarter of a century. Encapsulating 25 years of collaboration and conversation, Driven from the Garden at Gallery114@HCC Ybor City Campus, presents works by Graff and Kirchman that demonstrate their shared affinity for floral imagery and the limits to which they have pushed such imagery in printmaking and ceramics, respectively. Embracing floral motifs for their opulence and femininity, the artists forge harmonious connections between their distinct practices representative both of the connection they have enjoyed as longtime friends, and the influence each has had on the other’s artistic development through the years.
