Calling all actors, singers, and dancers! New Tampa Players is hosting auditions for our two summer productions at Uptown Stage: Manic Monologues and Children of Eden.

Manic Monologues:

Direction by Thomas Pahl

Audition Dates: May 1st from 6-9PM and May 2nd from 7-9:30 PM

Dress Rehearsals: June 5th-June 9th

Performances: June 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, and 19

New Tampa Players is looking for a group of diverse and dynamic storytellers 16 years and older to present the tales held within the Manic Monologues!

The Manic Monologues is a play showcasing true stories of mental illness to disrupt stigma that are funny, dramatic, and touching, but always honest.
In any given year, mental illness is part of the identity of 1 in 4 adults. So why don’t we talk about it? This play aims to ignite conversation. When it comes to mental health, silence kills.

Actors wishing to audition will need to memorize and perform a comedic or dramatic monologue between 1-2 minutes long. Don’t have a monologue? No problem! Just memorize a story of the same length and perform that. There will also be movement and character exercises.

Cast size is flexible, and we will be looking to include many actors of all types, so if you have ever wanted to be on stage, this is great opportunity!

Children of Eden:

Direction by Nora Paine and G. Frank Meekins

Musical Direction by G. Frank Meekins

Audition Dates: May 1st from 6-9PM, May 2nd from 7-9:30 PM, and May 3rd from 7:00-9:30 PM

Dress Rehearsals: July 24-28

Performances: July 29, 30, 31 and August 5, 6, 7

New Tampa Players is looking for a diverse cast of 16 to tell this age old story of conflict, family, and acceptance. Storytelling will also be at the heart of this piece by John Caird and Stephen Schwartz about Adam, Eve, and Creation and Noah and the Flood.

Actors wishing to audition will need to prepare a 16 bar piece that showcases your vocal range and talent. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist. We will also have a movement/dance portion for the audition, so please wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
