• Sensory Saturdays

  • The MFA welcomes families with children with sensory sensitivities to explore the galleries with us each month! During this time, all rotating audio components will be turned down or muted to ensure a calm environment. Visitors will receive a pre-packaged sensory bag with a guiding prompt, sketching materials, or other sensory-friendly activities. The MFA is proud to work with USF’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities as one of their Autism Friendly businesses in Tampa Bay. Second Saturdays, 10 am to 12 pm. Free for Members or with the cost of admission. Advanced ticketing is required to avoid long wait times for visitors and to accommodate limited capacities in the galleries.

• Homeschool Hours
  • Homeschool groups and families are invited to join us the last Wednesday of the month as we look at the culture, history, math, and science of art! Every month will explore a new idea or exhibition, and visitors will receive a pre-packaged learning bag with a guide and activity. Museum docents, educators, and other specialists will meet you in the galleries to lead conversations and answer questions. Last Wednesdays, 10 am to 12 pm. Free for Members or with the cost of admission. Advanced ticketing is required as capacity is limited in the galleries.
• Explore More! Days
  • Join us throughout the year for special days of fun! Visitors will receive a pre-packaged exploration bag with an activity guide and game. Each Explore More! Day features a special exhibition, so you can explore a new world of art every time! Select days, 11 am to 2 pm. Free for Members or with the cost of admission. Advanced ticketing is required as capacity is limited in the galleries.
