A little about the roving program, C.A.R.T. – “Creative Arts and Reading Together”
The CART program runs M – Th 830 – 530, 35 hours weekly. It runs for 8 weeks beginning with training the week of May 28th,. Pay is $15.00 hourly. When applying for this position, the interested party would select Roving Art.
The program features two teams of 4 people that travel to 3 sites per day (in close proximity to one another & mileage is reimbursed, determined at the federal rate). The teams are at each community center for approximately 2 hours. We read a story to the kids, this year the readings are focused on the poetry of Jack Prelutsky and Shel Silverstein. After we read the story/poem we do a simple art project associated with the story. A valid DL is required along with the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
