Glenyse Thompson is known for her twisting, flowing, textural hand-drawn abstract art made with water-medias on heavy paper or panels, created with colorful backgrounds, others showing extreme starkness by creation on black paper with white or gold ink. Current themes are conversations between people, shown in a visual manner, illustrating we are more similar than not.
Her art was commissioned for the cover of the January/February 2021 Designers Today edition. She has been interviewed for Martha Stewart, Art-In-Res, Aspire Luxury Magazine, House Tipster and her art was selected for the cover for the book “ellipsis”, published by Westminster College. She has appeared as a featured artist for WEDU Arts Plus, a nationally syndicated television program on the PBS network and she has been a guest on the podcast Art & Cocktails for Create Magazine.
Internationally collected, her prior exhibition history includes The Other Art Show-Saatchi Art; Beyond the Mask: Storytelling in Black Art + Design, Plant Seven, High Point Market; Hyatt Regency Orlando Exhibition; Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series; PaperWest-National Works on Paper, Gittens Gallery; ArtFields and Morean Arts Center.
