DH is a glassmaker and artist whom grew up in the Tampa Bay area. He has an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and has been awarded residency opportunities both stateside and abroad. One residency of note was through the Fondation de’Enterprise de Hermes at their Saint-Louis Crystal Factory in France. Subjects of study include sunrises and sunsets to mangroves and the ubiquitous nature of this material in our daily lives. The work can inhabit an installation, a wall or a table top.
Glassmaking is about collaboration, whether it is with another glassmaker, an artist or designer. As far as art and design, I prefer to fluctuate between the two; ultimately coming to realize I am a maker and a catalyst for this material.
