WUSF Public Media is a comprehensive public media organization that operates an NPR news and jazz radio station and an all-classical music radio station, and provides digital content online, through newsletters, podcasts and social media and serves a weekly audience of greater than 350,000. It is a department of the University of South Florida, with 70 employees and a budget of $12 million and provides internships to students. WUSF Public Media?s main studios are on the USF Tampa campus, with a broadcast and music performance studio on the USFSM campus and an office and news production studio on the USFSP campus.


The Arts Axis Florida Jazz Brand Manager oversees projects of all levels of complexity originating within WUSF Public Media and as collaborations with entities outside the organization. This position is responsible for managing existing relationships between WUSF Public Media and Jazz organizations & artists, community partners and sponsorship partners in order to increase the growth of new relationships in the WUSF Public Media broadcast coverage area and beyond. The position will also focus on scheduling and producing live jazz performances and interviews for the WUSF Jazz Podcast. The project scope includes management of the AAF website, WUSF Jazz podcast, social media accounts, content creation, content scheduling, eNewsletter creation and delivery and copy-writing.


Develop and manage relationships between WUSF Public Media and jazz organizations, community partners and sponsorship partners in order to increase the growth and engagement of the WUSF Jazz brand located on Arts Axis Florida across the state of Florida.

Coordinate and oversee the production and recording of the WUSF Jazz podcast. This will include scheduling, production and editing of live studio performances along with interviews conducted live in person or via video recording. Video and audio podcast production will both be utilized.

Create content for the promotion of WUSF Jazz on Arts Axis Florida and for use by the participating jazz organizations and artists. This includes graphics, video, audio, copy and long form blogs when necessary.

Use long-range planning skills and coordinate with WUSF internal activities calendar to organize the content production schedule on a rolling 30/60/90 day calendar. Coordinate with other WUSF team members and departments and external partners on executing content production, scheduling interviews and exclusive content.

Provide monthly analytics for website use, podcast downloads, social media and all other marketing efforts. Provide the sales department with monthly impressions and assist with identifying content with enhanced underwriting capabilities.  Make public appearances on behalf of the station. These include lectures, participation on panels, emceeing and on-stage greetings before events.

Performs other duties as assigned.



This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media, or related field, with two years of experience in related positions; or a Master’s degree in the fields listed above. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.


Minimum of 2 years of project management experience, digital marketing experience, copywriter/editor, podcast production.
