Matthew McGee

In 1994, Matthew McGee left a tiny town in rural Georgia, said “hello” to entertainment and has never looked back. With numerous stage appearances, voice-overs and commercials to his credit, he has become a familiar face in the Tampa Bay Theatre scene. Tampa Bay audiences will recognize Matthew from his acclaimed performances productions at freeFall Theatre Company, American Stage Theatre Company, The Show Palace Dinner Theatre, Suncoast Aids Theatre Project (SATP) and St. Pete Opera Company. Matthew can be seen and heard in radio and television spots for Domino’s, Chevrolet, Sonny’s BBQ, www.gotomeetings.com, Amscot Financial and the NJ turnpike. He also appeared in the independent film MISCONCEPTIONS starring Orlando Jones and David Moscow.

Matthew has also had the opportunity to open for showbiz luminaries like Debbie Reynolds, Jackie Mason, Joe Piscopo and The Village People. Matthew has won a Jeff Norton Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Dr. Frank ‘n’ Furter in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW at American Stage in the Park and was nominated for The Broadway World Florida Award for Best Actor in a Musical as Pluto/Shaw in freeFall’s inaugural production of THE FROGS. Creative Loafing also named him Most Joyous Comic Presence (Critic’s Choice) in their 2012 Best of the Bay Issue.
