Donna Morrison

Being a native Floridian, my first artistic love is old world Florida. I also find inspiration in natural settings, creatures and people discovered all around the world in my travels and experiences. I combine my passion for color and detail to produce works of art with a flair for the dramatic. I’ve been recognized for my realistic representations of Florida which include such subject matter as water birds, landscapes, sea life, and orchids to name a few. Influences include realistic artwork of such masters as Andrew Wyeth and Norman Rockwell as well as current artist Dean Mitchell and those with whom I have had the opportunity to study.

I hold signature status in the National Watercolor Society, the Southern Watercolor Society and the Florida Watercolor Society. I was named as one of the top 10 artists to watch in Artists Magazine. I am available for commissions, teaching and workshops.

I am a Furman University graduate where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a bent for advertising design. I worked as a Chamber of Commerce Communications Manager and as a graphic designer. I created and ran my own company, Bayou Graphics, Inc. which focused mainly on print design and execution. After ten years I sold the company and moved into fine art exclusively. I have shown my work and earned numerous awards and praise throughout the state of Florida and beyond. I have also participated in traveling national exhibitions and am an active member of many local and state art organizations including holding a board position with the Florida Watercolor Society.
